Melanthe - Pageant explained

Hey guys, Melanthe here to update you about the pageant we're doing! I read Samantha's post from two days ago, and while she talked a lot about winning the pageant; she didn't give much information about the pageant itself. So, here goes! As Samantha said, the seasonal pageants are sponsored by BeautifulPageants Inc, have a winner and four runners-up in each age group. It's fun, really. There are twenty-five girls in each age group, and you have to apply to enter three weeks before the pageant; and they pick the first twenty-five that apply as long as they aren't totally hideous. Okay, I was joking about that part, I don't know if they've ever rejected anybody. Besides, if you were really as ugly as all that, why would you be doing pageants? There are four categorys, and each of the three-or-four judges gives you a score out of ten for each category. At the end, they add it up. If there's a tie, they...do something, I don't know what. There has never been an unresolved tie, as long as I know. So, anyway, I'll give a outline of how the pageant goes.

First category is bathing suits. Enough said. Summer is the only pageant where they have this category. They change it up for the other seasons. Sometimes they do dance, or a monologue/speech, or world issues, or something.

Second category is talent. You do a talent you have in front of the judges; like singing, dancing, musical instrument, juggling, gymnastics, whatever. Preferably, you don't wear your bathing suit for this one, :D. You have another outfit for this, depending on what your doing. Some girls do the bathing suit, then stay in the same dress for the rest of the pageant. Other girls have different outfits for each category, while others change twice.

Third category is question and answer. The judges ask you questions and you answer them. Questions vary from opinions on world issues, favorites, what-would-you-do, and tons of others. They don't judge you on what you say exactly, but on how you say it. You know, confidence, how well you answer, whether you ramble on and on, or don't give enough information. Like I said before, some girls have totally different outfits for this, others change right after this category, and others don't change at all.

The last category is, of course, beauty. I don't think I need to explain this one. It comes last because it's the most important, don't let Samantha tell you it doesn't. For this category, you get scored out of fifteen.
