Samantha - Bunheads Party!

Yesterday, as you know, we had a super awesome party to celebrate the season finale of Bunheads! I know, I know, I'm not that much of a TV show person - none of us are - but Rebecca and I both started watching because of Sutton Foster, who we both love, and we got hooked! So, to celebrate the end of a fantastic first season, we threw a little party! We invited Andrea and Kanani. Maddi wanted to come, but her mom was dragging her to visit her aunt and cousins, so she couldn't. Melanthe was disappointed, but secretly, I didn't care. I don't like Maddi. I think she's shallow and annoying; but clearly Melanthe disagree with me. Oh well, as long as she didn't come, I don't really care about Melanthe.

Firstly, here are some great photos of us all in our Bunhead outfits. Notice how our Bunhead outfits all reflect our personal style and personalities! Rebecca's is very quiet and traditional, pretty but not in a flashy way. Pink is a good color for her. Melanthe is bright and bold in pink and purple, totally standing out from the rest of us. She is so, so, gorgeous. I've always wanted to be a redhead. They say redheads don't wear pink; but Mellie looks good in her pink wrap-around skirt, which looks nice with her bright purple leg-warmers. Kanani, of course, looks beautiful and calm, very neat and pretty in her usual wallflower way. She could be o, so pretty if she tried, really she could. Dear old Andrea, of course, looks totally clueless and out of it. Dancing is SO not her thing. I have no clue where she got the leotard, it is truly hideous. I could see Rebecca struggling to to make some snide remark, and I admit I teased her a bit about it myself. By the way, she borrowed that shrug from me. I want it back. You may have noticed that Lilyana wasn't wearing a leotard. She prefers wearing long sleeves to hide the brace-thingy she wears on her shoulder, and I don't blame her. It's not that nice to look at. She decided to wear  more casual dance-wear instead, borrowing Rebecca's new black sweater. And then there's me, Samantha. I think I look rather nice, don't you?

We had the most yummy cakes! The first one was lemon, and baked by Lilyana, Of course, because she is a great baker! We put pink sprinkles on it, and wrote 'Bunheads' in pink frosting. It was so, so,  good! We all had seconds, and Andrea had thirds, in typical Andrea fashion. She eats so much! The other cake was almond cream, baked by you-know-who. I don't mean Voldemort, I'm not sure he can bake. It was almost better then the lemon. We tried to frost a ballet shoe on it, but the frosting was being annoying, so it turned out to be a giant pink blob. Oh well; Blobs still taste good, right? Definantly!

The party was super fun. Melanthe brought her camera, so we have lots of pictures of us all. We fooled a round a lot as Rebecca tried to teach those of us who couldn't dance various positions and moves. Andrea sucked, but Melanthe was surprisingly good. Lily, of course, refrained, but Kanani sat out with her like a good friend. A pity, because Kanani is a good dancer, probably from all the hula dancing she did in Hawaii. And as for the episode.......oh god, it was spectacular! I won't talk about it now, but Rebecca will post her review tomorrow, so look at that. But I was so happy when Sutton sang.....and the hubble dream made me cry. As for the ending......I don't think I can wait until winter to find out what happened. Poor Michelle. It wasn't her fault! But she does cause a fair amount of trouble. Still, it is her house, so Fanny can't make her leave. But if she still wants to stay after all that......who knows? I hope Talia comes back. I loved her. Oh god, I can't wait for season two, literally CAN'T wait! Bunheads has become such a constant in my life!

Anyway, Fantastic party! Look out for Rebecca's review, which she'll post tomorrow.

Melanthe - Finding song for pageant and Life Goals

Hey guys, It's Melanthe. As you know, the Pageant is in 6 days, as of today. I figured it was about time to start finding a song to play on my flute in the Talent section. Which is the second most important part of the pageant; the first being beauty. Of course. Anyway, It's important to find the right song to play, because I think song choice really sways the judges in your favor. I mean, If there's a really talented flutist (Like moi), but she plays a really boring song (NOT like moi) then she might not get as good a score.

Rebecca says that there's only a bit of truth in that, because talent is talent, and anyway, nobody would ever say something like that about dancer, because no dance is ever boring, and I should take my unwanted observations and stick them up you-know-where. But thats just what Rebecca says, so really, who cares? And anyway, she should stop being so mean and stuck-up about dance. She's always going on about how great it is, and how talented she is. And it kinda sounds like bragging sometimes. Well, a lot of the time. But somehow, I don't think it is. I don't know why. I've know girls who brag a lot (Like Maddi. Sorry, Mads.) and they don't sound like Rebecca. I'm not sure exactly what the difference is, but I know it's there. But if she's not bragging, what is she doing? I have no idea. But she always seems so...sure. About her future. She knows she wants to be a dancer, then possibly teach. And she probably will. But me? I have no clue. I mean, I know I'm really good on the flute (It's partly what I have a scholarship to Sutton for), but thats so not what I want to do with my life. It's something to fall back on, as Lily says, but not very exciting. I like fashion and fashion design (The other part of what I have the scholarship for) and maybe I'd like to do something like that. Maybe. I guess I'm good at fashion and everything, but there are so many girls that are better. Even in my class, there are so many that are better. What chance do I have? And it's not like I'm even really serious about that, either. So, honestly, I have no idea what I want to do with my life. Maybe it's to early. But it seems that most of my friends know where they're going, even if there's no chance of them getting there. Rebecca wants to be a dancer, as we all know. Samantha wants to be a broadway star, like Bernadette Peters or Sutton Foster. Maddi wants to work either as a hairdresser or a game show host. Andrea (Samantha's friend) wants to be a food critic. Kanani wants to be a marine biologist. Lilyana wants to be a riding teacher for disabled kids. So I guess everybody knows what they want to do. I mean, hey, I'm totally content to be a blow-in-the-wind kinda girl, but it would be nice to have an idea of where I;m blowing, right?

OMG, I just realized that I never told you what song I'm doing! I've decided to do 'Perfect' by Pink. One of my all-time favorite songs ever! Its a bit tricky, but I've worked on it before, so It'll sound fantastic by Monday.

Melanthe - Pageant explained

Hey guys, Melanthe here to update you about the pageant we're doing! I read Samantha's post from two days ago, and while she talked a lot about winning the pageant; she didn't give much information about the pageant itself. So, here goes! As Samantha said, the seasonal pageants are sponsored by BeautifulPageants Inc, have a winner and four runners-up in each age group. It's fun, really. There are twenty-five girls in each age group, and you have to apply to enter three weeks before the pageant; and they pick the first twenty-five that apply as long as they aren't totally hideous. Okay, I was joking about that part, I don't know if they've ever rejected anybody. Besides, if you were really as ugly as all that, why would you be doing pageants? There are four categorys, and each of the three-or-four judges gives you a score out of ten for each category. At the end, they add it up. If there's a tie, they...do something, I don't know what. There has never been an unresolved tie, as long as I know. So, anyway, I'll give a outline of how the pageant goes.

First category is bathing suits. Enough said. Summer is the only pageant where they have this category. They change it up for the other seasons. Sometimes they do dance, or a monologue/speech, or world issues, or something.

Second category is talent. You do a talent you have in front of the judges; like singing, dancing, musical instrument, juggling, gymnastics, whatever. Preferably, you don't wear your bathing suit for this one, :D. You have another outfit for this, depending on what your doing. Some girls do the bathing suit, then stay in the same dress for the rest of the pageant. Other girls have different outfits for each category, while others change twice.

Third category is question and answer. The judges ask you questions and you answer them. Questions vary from opinions on world issues, favorites, what-would-you-do, and tons of others. They don't judge you on what you say exactly, but on how you say it. You know, confidence, how well you answer, whether you ramble on and on, or don't give enough information. Like I said before, some girls have totally different outfits for this, others change right after this category, and others don't change at all.

The last category is, of course, beauty. I don't think I need to explain this one. It comes last because it's the most important, don't let Samantha tell you it doesn't. For this category, you get scored out of fifteen.

Counting down the days!

Melanthe :)

Samantha - Little Miss Sunshine

Hey everybody. In my last post, I mentioned a pageant that we'd be competing in on the twenty-eighth, called Little Miss Sunshine. Well, this pageant is part of a series of annual pageants for girls eleven and up, sponsored by a compony called BeautifulPageants Inc. There are four pageants, one in each season. (Spring, summer, winter, autumn.) Everybody competes in their age groups, and there are first, second, third place winners, and four honorable mentions. Or 'Runners-up,' whatever you prefer.

I've been competing since I was old enough, which was the spring I turned 11. Thats nine pageants, and not to brag, I placed in eight of them. I got first five times, second twice, and third once. The ninth was this past spring, where I placed seventh. And do you know who won? Rebecca. Yes, Rebecca won first, while I was SEVENTH! That's the lowest honorable mention. Barely a place at all. Before Rebecca started competing, I would win. Now, in the two pageants she's competed in, I've gotten third and seventh. I don't believe it, still. But I do know that this time, I'll win. I have to win. I mean, I know it's not about winning and all, and yeah, sure, it's still fun anyway, but it's funner if you win. Much funner. And I'm the type of girl that wins. I mean, I'm no Nellie O'Malley, but I'm pretty good at pageants. Back when I lived in New York, Nellie and I would do pageants sometimes. Nellie was what you'd call a real pageant girl; she'd been in those little-kid ones from the time she was four. Won most of them, to. Nellie's the type of girl who would always win, with her big eyes and fluffy hair, cute freckles, huge voice, and natural grace. She'd always sing to, if there was a talent division. So would I, and I know that that mat have attributed to the fifths, fourths, and occasional thirds that I racked up, especially as I got older. I know I'm not beautiful. Barely even pretty. Sure, I was a pretty cute kid, but then again, aren't we all? I know my face is to round, and my eyes are to small. My hair is ok, but my bangs are taking years to grow out. But it's not just prettiness that makes you win pageants. Sure, Nellie was pretty - but she also had personality, confidence, a good stage presence, talent. Thats what it takes. Thats why I win. Sure, Rebecca won twice, but she's pretty. She's gorgeous, she's graceful, she's talented. But she doesn't have the personality I have. She might have wowed the judges the first couple times around, but I know I'll win in two weeks.

Rebecca - Bunheads recap and review

This weeks bunheads starts with Michelle in a coffee shop, in a very long line, and in need of caffeine. The coffee place; Bash, is run by Sebastian, an award-winning barista who is said to have beat the French and Italians. (Which is where he was for the past eight episodes - off brewing coffee in Europe.) Michelle, fed up with waiting, strikes up a conversation with the woman behind her, who brings her up to date on Sebastian while trying to read. Michelle, still annoyed with the wait, and desperately needing to exercise her vocal cords, trys to talk to the boy behind her, but he's got trig, and so he's got a pretty damn good reason to hold her off. Oh, well. Finally, Michelle pulls out a magazine from her bag, and makes a startling discovery. An old friend of hers in choreographing an upcoming production of Follies; which prompts her to babble some more to the innocent victims. I mean customers. Michelle is by this point at the front of the line, and begins to order, letting us assume that the battle of coffee is all clear from here. But its Michelle we're talking about, so no such luck. Clearly, Sebastian is wholeheartedly against letting the customer pick the coffee, and although he guess's Michelle's order right off the bat, proclaims it 'the devils brew.' Michelle just nods along with it. Then realizes why the line is out the door. He handpicks the coffee beans. Like, one by one. no, we are not kidding.

Back at the studio, Fanny is impersonating a physco prison warden with a tendency for the bloodthirsty, and is killing all the dancers while trying to find the right Clara for the Nutcracker, and woe to anybody who dares to sit down. I don't know how she's planning to find a Clara this way, and if she does, I'm betting there won't be much in the way of a supporting cast. Michelle, who wanders in looking for her lost phone,  is appalled at this - although I myself have encountered many similar situations in dance classes past - and is forced by Fanny to demonstrate a jete. Which she unwillingly does, although it is not one of her best, so Fanny tells her off. After Fanny magically produces her phone, Michelle reveals that she's thinking about calling her old choreographer friend. Fanny express's disbelief that Michelle is still looking for work, and Michelle says she and Richard made a pact that they'd help the other one out once they made it. Michelle calls him, and leaves some messages. While leaving, she finds Melanie and Ginny hiding in a bush, an attempt to not be considered for Clara. Michelle chats with them, then skedaddles after making a funny Diary Of Anne Frank joke. Their getaway car - Charlie (He's back! Hurray! Bust out the chocolate!) arrives, and Ginny is a bit guilty that the latest 'drug bust' was really spices planted by Melanie in his room. Wow, what a great sister, huh? We then see Ginny being inexplicably weird around Charlie, because she remembers that he likes her, and has no idea how to act. Neither would I, but only because Charlie - however cute - is a complete loon.

At the Oyster Bar, the girls - Plus Boo, who's on break - are waiting for Sasha, who they clearly miss. Enter Sasha, very bouncy and giggly, and loving cheerleading. She goes on and on about how much time she has on her hands, and how nice her 'secret sister' is, and how fun cheerleading is! Yay!! Then she giggle-texts off to get a 'surprise' from her secret sister. Well, that could go one of two ways, and I'm not sure Boo will like the second.

Michelle is back at the coffee place, because clearly a coffee house is a place of great trauma and stress, and is vying to be the protagonist in this television show. Duh. Going after her ringing phone, she manages to knock over a cup of coffee! Oh, the horror, the horror, the horror. Really, she should be executed. Then she manages to knock over his trophy, and we are all surprised the he doesn't kill her with a coffee bean. Or foam. Then, we find out that the oh-so-important phone call wasn't Richard calling her back - clearly, he's ignoring her - but Fanny, asking her to open the studio for Carl and Boo, who need to rehearse. Well, whoop-de-do.

At the studio, she find out that the coffee episode was all for naught, because Truly has been called to open it instead. With scented candles. And flowers. And Michelle had every right to kick her out, because she is seriously weird. But still awesome. Michelle, bored and un-caffeinated, offered to stay to help them rehearse the dance for the supermarket opening - which will also sell coffee. (And stamps.) Time for Michelle to sell her soul, then. Carl is lukewarm about getting her advice, but Boo is oddly reluctant. Boo then takes Michelle outside, and tells him that she likes Carl. And wants to be alone with him. (Carl, however, is breaking personality and being an idiot. for the sake of the show, right, Carl?) Thankfully, Michelle gets it, and leaves a happy Boo and an annoyed Carl.

Back at the studio, Fanny is bitching to Michelle about the quality of her dancers. Personally, I think she should try Melanie. Michelle, however, is not listening, and is instead waving around photos of her and Richard, who is still not calling her. And, oh yeah, owes her for the rental house. After Fanny complains a bit more, Michelle is actually reasonable and suggests talking to Sasha. Then Fanny proceeds to act like a sulky, annoyed kid, although really she is the adult in this situation. Anyhow, Fanny says Sasha must apologize to her, which we all know will never happen. Michelle calls Richard again, and is about to hang up when she goes cuckoo because she hears him in the background. Yes of course its him! Which confirms that yes, he's ignoring her. At which point Fanny crosses the line as she attempts to audition a boy for Clara, and precedes to jump him into an early grave.

Back at the coffee store, there is inexplicably no line. Michele is thrilled.......for a while, until she realizes Sebastian has not forgiven her. You know, for knocking over the coffee and the trophy. Get a grip, dude. And oh yeah, it's so not insulting that he calls on of his dads mom, right? She's prepared to wait for coffee though - but not if he's going to read the manual first. Because really, who reads the manual? So out she goes.

Later, Michelle is teaching a tap class. (Ah, when we get to see Sutton Foster dance, it is a rare episode.) As the class winds down, dancers start arriving, looking like a bunch of hospital patients. Thankfully, Michelle preforms a mass miracle, and crutches and casts are discarded when they learn that Michelle is taking Fanny's class today. In comes Truly with Carl and Boo's costumes. Oh, are they for the supermarket opening? Yes? Pity, it's closing. What? Yup! Why? We don't like them, thats why, and we want to create even more obstacles for Michelle to get coffee. Both Boo and Michelle are very annoyed, Boo because of no-more-Carl, Michelle because of no-more-coffee.

Later, the girls go to watch Sasha cheering. Which Sasha is SO not thrilled about. Funny, it seems like she does NOT want them there. Carl, however, is also there with another girl, and Charlie appears and sends Ginny into a catatonic impression of a board, who does not eat or go to the bathroom. Sure, like the rest of us. Sasha starts to cheer, the inexplicably stars coughing. Maybe she swallowed a bug, or was poisoned. Or doesn't want her friends to see her cheer, perhaps. A suspicion that is inflated when she goes full-feminism rant on the rest of the team about how cheerleading cause problems in men. Which is true, and of course Sasha is right, but that isn't why she did that, is it now? Of course not. Back in the stands, Ginny is still being weird. She kind of rolls down the bleachers to escape Charlie, and interrogates an annoyed/confused Sasha about cheerleading. Boo stops by to say hi to Carl, who says that he's quitting dance. Ouch. Because we really need less guy dancers here. And he is clearly not interested in Boo anymore, so bug off, Boo.

Michelle, campaigning for coff- we mean change and supermarkets, is tricking people to come to a council meeting at the dance studio to rethink the grocery store. And meets up with.......GODOT! Who has not drowned, been kidnapped by a surf board, or run off to some beach somewhere. No, he is here and......flirting with Michelle? What?

At Melanie's, she and Ginny are setting up for a sleepover. With cookie dough, cookies, and cheese. Wow, don't tell Fanny. Enter Charlie, exit Ginny's sanity. Finally, Melanie gets to the bottom of Ginny's weird behavior, and is shocked. She yells at Ginny that she can NEVER like Charlie unless Boo gives the okay, or becomes a lesbian or a nun, and even then, its a bad idea. Ginny tries to make excuses, but Melanie is unstoppable, and tells her that THIS STOPS NOW. Then we all get grossed out because Ginny borrowed her mothers honeymoon lingerie. Eek.

At the town meeting, about ten people are waiting for various parties, being tricked by Michelle to show up. But, come on, did Ginny really believe they'd get to skype with Hugh Jackman? Anyway, Michelle proceeds to insult everybody in the room, and generally loose her case. not that she had much to go on, because they were misusing children and poisoning ducks, or something. Then, Boo sneaks off to meet Carl, and explains. Clearly, he does like her still, because they kiss. And so, naturally, her friends come in. And seeing Boo with Carl causes Ginny to 'thoughtfuly' exclaim: "Great! I get Charlie!" To which Boo is appropriately shocked, and joins the argument, saying she's still interested in Charlie.
Carl: Hey, I'm standing right here?
Boo: CHARLIE! I still love him, you can't date him!
Carl: I'm out of here.leaves
Boo: Oh, shit. Manages to ruin things again. I hate Boo. I always have.
After the council meeting - failure - Godot is being very patient and listing to Michelle ramble on and on. And, oh yeah, flirting with her again. Good grief. Whatever happened to the director? We liked him. Godot wants to take her surfing, to which Michelle jokes about his pick-up lines. Oh boy. Not going where I'd like it to.

Later, Michelle goes to talk to Sasha at cheerleading. She starts by making fun of the cheerleaders - to which they are heavily entitled - and how they can't kick. How true that is. Michelle asks Sasha to go back to dancing, but Sasha says that it isn't that simple, she's dealing with crap Michelle couldn't understand. (Oh yeah, Sasha. Real shithole you're in, compared to some of us, right? Becouse you really have so much to complain about.) Michelle says that she understands - her home life sucked to - but that you have to deal with it, because life isn't fair, and she'll be gone soon anyway. Michelle tells her that quitting ballet now when you're young is a stupid mistake, and could take away opportunities. (Like you did, Michelle?) Then they make fun of some more cheerleaders, who deserve it.

Enter a coffee machine. Easy solution. Clearly, Godot has some brain cells.

I cannot wait till the season finale! We are SO having a Bunheads party.

Rebecca

PS - Didn't Sasha have a blue hair streak, or did we just imagine it?

Melanthe - I'm Home!!!

Hey all you random people out there! If you haven't read the title, this is Melanthe, posting for the first time in almost a month. Sorry about that, by the way. I wish I could have blogged, and I feel bad about not blogging, but I do have two excuses. Number one - No Internet Service. Number two - I was way, way, too busy. But now I'm back! Well, i got back yesterday morning, but i was to busy unpacking to post. Hurray! I'm glad to be back here, but it was nice to see my family. I really miss them during the school year, but I guess being able to attend Sutton is worth it. It really is a good school. But still, it was great to be able to spend time with my parents.

And our beach house in Maine is my favourite place on earth! My parents have owned the house forever (It belonged to my dads family, and he inherited it because he's an only child like me), so I've spent at least a month every summer there since I was two. It's on the coast, and we have a little private beach that is more rocks than sand. When the tide is in, it's little more then a strip of rocks and shells, but at low tide it's a fantastic beach. All types of sand, shells, and sea-glass wash on shore, and most mornings I went looking around for treasures. Its so nice to be alone on the beach at sunset, the rising sun tinging the clear water orangey-red, the breeze cool, and the air fresh and brimming with the lucrative promises of another summer day.  The water is very calm and warm, perfect for swimming. Almost every day, my best-beach-friend Tessa and I would go swimming, sometimes with other friends, sometimes just the two o us. I like Tessa a lot; I've known her for years. Her family has a summer house near ours, so we've always been close. We're summer-best-friends. Both of us have other friends back home, and we both know that. Its easy yo be with her, because we just know each other through the summers, and we don't have to deal with any long term fights, or crap, or anything. I Often, we take our boat out and have a picnic on the water, or go into the town to hang out. We like to get ice cream at one of the zillion ice cream stores, and basically jut fool around. Tessa has a kind-of-boyfriend named Josh. A lot of time, he hung out with us. He has tons of friends that were available - and cute! but I somehow didn't feel like doing that this summer. I'm not sure why. They say most people who are bisexual really prefer one gender over the other. But I don't know. I don't feel that way. Is that wrong? Maybe I just need time, but I want to know now. I don't want to, say, get a girlfriend, but then realize that I really prefer boys! That would be weird. And mean, (to the girlfriend, I mean), because what if she actually like me a lot? I don't want to risk that. So I guess i'll just have to wait. i mean, its not like i really want to get romantically involved now. Alright, I'm really and truly off topic here.

So......I'm back now. Back in Boston. Back to.......I don't know, exactly. From reading over the blog earlier i gather things have been kinda....odd around here. I read about what was happening with Lily's dad. I feel bad for her, I would never want my parents to divorce, and I they did, I'd totally freak out if one of them remarried! That would be horrible! I don't know how Lily is being so open about that, i really don't. It all sounds horrible to me. And I do admit, Rebecca is being weird. Weirder then usual. But really, what else is new? She's been in a pretty good mood lately, though. More upbeat then i've seen her in ages. But Samantha's right. She's gotten very reckless, it seems, based on what Samantha told me last night, and what I've seen since I got back. She started screaming at Samantha's mom yesterday, for no reason that I could see. Last night, I heard her get up. I thought she was going out to the roof, as she so often does, but when i got up to go to the bathroom, I looked out the window and she wasn't there. I don't know where she goes. But Rebecca's always been kind of a mystery to me. To us. So really, who cares what she does.

Moving. Samantha told me that it won't be in the next week or so because, they haven't found a buyer for the house yet. I hope it never sells, because I don't want us to split up. I don't want to find another household to board with, I'm happy here. I like staying with Samantha's family, I like being so near to Maddi's house. There must be some way I can stay with them, there must. We're having another family meeting again in a couple days. Maybe we'll find a way. I hope Rebecca isn't as violent as last time, though. Honestly, I don't know why she can't find another family to board with. What is it on her record that makes people reject her like that? I'd love to know, it must be something really bad. Still, I don't even know why she left her school in New York. It was much better then Sutton School For The Arts. I can't see her leaving a great school for a not so great one; she's so career-oriented. She could go back, go back to her old school. Back to the city. Then I could still board with the Parkingtons. I wish.

Samantha - Plans and Summer days :(

Hey guys, Samantha here. I thought I'd do a post about how the rest of the summer is going to go. Melanthe should be getting back within a couple of days - like I said before, she had very bad cell reception there, so she doesn't call often.

Anyway, Lilyana's best friend Ani's birthday is next weekend, so we're going to the party. That's going to be fun! I love a good party. She's the youngest of us though; we're all thirteen already. Melanthe is the oldest, her birthday is in November. Rebecca's is in February, Lily's is in March, and mine is in may. My friend Andrea also has a birthday in May, so we often have a double birthday party. Maddi's birthday is in June. So its always fun to have a summer party. I'm not quite sure what I'm getting her yet, though. Oh well, I have time.

On August twenty-seventh, there is the annual Little Miss Sunshine pageant! We're all competing in it. I love pageants, and so does Melanthe. Rebecca tolerates them, and so does Lily. The only problem is that Rebecca wins a lot, which I find annoying, Sure, she may be prettier then me, but I have the better personality, and I am SO more talented. Thats what counts, right? And after coming FORTH in Little Miss Springtime to Rebecca's first and Maddi's third, I swear I will win this one!

We're still having trouble selling the house, so I have no clue when we'll actually move. Oh well, the later the better. And like I said, we'll have to have a house meeting when Mellie gets back.

As you know, Lilyana got back yesterday. She's a bit shell-shocked about what happened with her father, and she was really sad about leaving. I've only met my uncle a couple times, but he's a nice guy. If he's going to remarry, I'm sure he'll pick somebody nice. At least, I hope so, for Lily's sake. Lily thinks that he's hiding something else from her, but I'm not sure what she thinks it could be. I wouldn't know if he is or not, having not seen him or talked to him, but Lilyana has good instincts. I g=feel bad for her, I really do. She's kinda mopey at the moment. And Rebecca is so not helping. She keeps making all these cryptic comments, and giving advice that seems to scare Lily. What does she know, anyway? Well, actually, I don't know what the heck the deal is with her parents. Her dad sounded like a real piece of work on the phone, so maybe she does know what she's talking about. To some extent. But still, she's really upsetting Lilyana, and thats not fair or nice. Really, she has to be more empathetic sometimes, or nobody will like her. If anybody ever did, which I doubt. Well, she gets along OK with Lily, but Lily is friends with anybody, she's so nice. I just don't know what her problem is. Speaking of Rebecca, she's been in quite a mood ever since she got home from camp. Firstly, she's not as mopey, and she's smiling a bit more. She seems very...happyish. But she's also gotten more reckless; talking back to my mom all the time, and being mean to the rest of us, sassy comments and mean insults said in a jokey tone that really hurts. When she's home, that is. She's at the studio a lot, or up on the roof, or who knows where, getting home late and ignoring my parents when they ask where she is. She's freaking me out, actually, but I'm just being stupid. She's just being Rebecca. Oh god, I hope thats all this is, because I must be crazy to think like this about her. I'm the one with the problem, not Rebecca. But I still worry.

Rebecca - Bunheads review and recap

So, I just watched the latest Bunheads episode, and I must say it was quite interesting. Not to much happens, but you can tell they're just setting some plotlines up for the next episode, which is the last one before the season finale. I can't wait! We're all going to have a Bunheads party, and watch all the episodes in order, then have cake! Anyway, on to the episode.

It started with a scene between Melanie and Ginny. Poor Melanie. Still no plotline. And to to that, Gorgeous Charlie has disappeared from this episode, so she really has nothing to work with here. Anyway, then there is a semi-funny bit about Fanny and flowers, which may or may not be a pun on her name. (Fanny Flowers) Ha ha. Not really.

Then, we meet this guy in Fannies kitchen, and Michelle is being very awkward. Turns out he's a 'friend,' Michael. Wearing her slippers and cooking eggs in her kitchen. Well. And he's huge! Really huge! Taller then Sutton, who is pretty tall. She was the tallest person ever to play Eponine in Les Mis. She herself said she was 'Giant Eponine!' So this Michael must be very tall. Kinda creepy. Then Michelle makes an absolute fool of herself talking about Kinky Breakfasts. LOL. He never lets her forget that.

Cut to the dance studio, where the girls are watching Ginger Rogers dancing. They go down to the studio (Fanny in a bad mood!) where Sasha and an insanely cute guy named Jordan are practicing their Ginger Rogers dance. Jeez, that guy can dance. Where'd they find him, anyway? The number of boys I know in my dance class that are legitimately talented could fit on one hand. Jordan and Sasha dance really well, making full use of the furniture and bars in the studio. Super cool. Then Fanny (Who, by the way, is 'Always here.' Ha. Could have fooled me.) tells us that its show season. Very busy! Lots to do! Including the Ginger Rogers dance Sasha and Jordan do so well. Then she rants about cheerleaders for a while. Sasha is getting an idea. :) Then Fanny notices tan lines on Sasha. Hmm....... Somethings up! Fanny gets super mad, and Sasha makes some snippy comments. Well, Fanny is not going to stand for tan lines now, is she? Of course not. So she cuts Sasha from the Ginger Rogers dance, and puts Boo in instead. Bad choice. Boo is not that good a dancer. In my opinion, they should have cast Melanie. But whatever I think, they do the opposite. So Boo it is. Well. Sasha is not to happy.

Then Fanny invites Michelle to a show. Michelle gets annoyed Fanny didn't ask her before getting tickets, and cracks some spinster daughter jokes, which are, admittedly, quite funny. But she agrees to go, after wondering what dirty word that the 'Blank' in the title means. I wonder too. Because nothing I know makes sense there. Oh well. It's still funny. Michelle confronts Fanny about Michael, who clearly doesn't like musicals. And Michelle is driving. Duh.

Back at school, Ginny and Melanie joke that an enraged Sasha might jump out at Boo from her locker. Funny, but improbably, because Boo's locker is to small. Boo says she didn't ask for the role. The others say Sasha might not pay attention to that detail, but rather to the outcome - Boo has it. Sasha doesn't. Boo says they're being silly. But she still jumps back as she opens her locker. Funny. Poor Boo. But knowing Sasha, she better watch out.

Michelle and Fanny arrive at the theatre, and at once Michelle gets into a 'seating tiff' with a woman who won't let them through. Michelle gets mad, and makes some nasty Pamema Canal comments, to which she's rightfully entitled. She also berates Fanny about bringing wine into the theatre (I agree with her! Its a theatre, not a god damned restaurant.) and then proceeds to drink it, muttering about the  matinee crowd. They talk about Sasha. Michelle asks if she got cut from Nutcracker, to which Fanny replies: "No! I need her in nutcracker." Good choice, Fanny. Boo is so not good enough to dance in Nutcracker. The play starts..............eek.

Boo vies for Sasha's forgiveness, and gives her a brownie. Yum. Boo then interrogates her about tan lines and how she thought she didn't like then sun. Sasha says she's changed. Boo isn't to sure. Boo is probably right.

After a horrible act one, Michelle is stuck at the back of the theatre, having been held up in the bathroom by the oldies. She meets the rather harried director, Conner, who is scribbling away in a notebook. He is very annoyed at his actors, who are clearly not doing to well. They bond. Michelle asks what the play is about, and the director says he has no idea. Well, that makes three of us.

At the studio, Boo finds out Jordan quit the dance due to 'Family problems'.' Yup. 'Family Problems.' Ooh, I really believe that one! Good for him, I think. I hate Boo. She's annoying. I wouldn't dance with her. And Jordan and Sasha are perfect together! Carl, his replacement, is this tiny guy with no talent and a huge crush on Boo. Whoopee! More romance, because we've clearly forgotten about Charlie. Boo, Melanie, and Ginny make fun of Carl. Rightly. Carl runs in to Boo - Who he calls Bettina, which she hates - and pesters her on the job, which Boo seems to end up liking. Idiot. The next day, they rehearse together. Carl seems to be getting his way, because boy, is Boo showing interest! (Charlie? What about him?) They dance. Jeez, they suck. Much as Sasha deserved to be cut, I wouldn't have done it. Fanny needs to think about the quality of her productions, and how bad Boo and Carl will look. Which is super bad. He's not even cute, she' nowhere near pretty, and they are both pretty mediocre dancers.

Conner calls Michelle and invites her to come see the show again. Guess what? It still sucks. In bed together, they talk about their careers. Conners as probably the only NY actor to never be on Law and Order, and Michelle's feminine product commercial. Its got wings! Oh my god, that was so funny. Michelle starts crying. Aww. Turns out, she misses Hubble. WELL ITS ABOUT TIME! I mean god, she was married to the guy, albeit briefly, and she did know him. I mean, its gotta make an impression. Conner is very good about it, in spite of some tactless comments about how this is the stuff writers try to write. It wold have been funnier if he'd whipped out a pad and started taking notes. Poor Conner. I really hope to see him again. He's awesome! And funny. Prefect for Michelle.

At the dress rehearsal, Carl invites Boo over for dinner, but Melanie and Ginny turn him down for her, not realizing her intentions have changed. And idiot that she is, she doesn't even stand up for herself. Typical Boo. Then, Sasha bursts in in dark clothes, with......BLUE HAIR! It looks great. Fanny doesn't think so, and gets majority pissed off. Sasha and Fanny proceed to scream at each other, while Michael tells Michelle to stay out of it. Sasha says she's going out for cheer, which is a direct result of Fanny's "Cheer Is Not An Art Rant."Fanny is rightly shocked. Sasha says she can't handle both. Fanny agrees, and kicks her out!!! Now, I might have done the same if I were her. But I think Michelle needs to talk to Sasha, because it seems Michelle is more like her then we realize. (Deb, ect.) Michelle may be able to get Sasha back to dance, because its clear that dance is something she cares about and relies on, no matter what she says. Michelle may also be able to get to the bottom of all this Sasha stuff, because I'd say Sasha has got some serious problems at the moment, and I'm afraid they might get worse. coming from experience, what Sasha is doing now can easily lead to........other things. While that might be interesting for the show - I'd like to see them deal with stuff like that - Sasha might not come off well. I have some ideas for the season finale. :) A pushed-over-the-edge-Sasha might not be good news. Oh, and...where's Truely? We missed her. Can't wait till next week!

Lilyana - Last day in Montana

Its my last day in Montana. My last full day, I mean. I'm leaving tomorrow. I can't believe I'm leaving, it feels so unreal. I've always known it was just a visit, but call me stupid, I've never really felt like I would ever leave. I felt like my two years in Boston was just a bad dream, and now I've woken up,  I could stay in Montana forever. I could stay here, happy, with my father forever, never have to go back. Well, of course not. I have to go back, and I have to go tomorrow. But I don't want to. I want to stay here forever, the warm sun unobstructed by tall buildings, the grass high and soft against my legs when I go riding. It could be almost like before, with the bus picking me up at the end of the road, sitting next to Rachel, her chatter comforting me as we rumbled along to school. Helping my father in the barn, feeding the horses, eating the dinner my grandmother cooked, seeing the stars out my bedroom window every night. Montana is where I've always been the happiest. Nothing in Boston could compare to that, nothing ever could come close. There's no place on earth where I've ever felt as happy, as free, and as content. Sometimes, I resent my mom, for taking me away. I feel like it was her fault that I don't get to see my father very often. At the beginning, I didn't talk to her for a week, because I was so mad. I still am, in a way. I know she had to move, of course, and Boston was a convenient place to go, because of Aunt Jessy, and the good hospitals and stuff. I understand, but I still haven't quite forgiven her. sometimes, I think I have, but whenever i see my father, I forget. I love him so much, and I can't believe I have to leave him tomorrow. I love Boston and my girls, but I love Montana more. Is that wrong? Should I still want to go back as much as I do? Am I being disloyal to my mom? I know she's done everything and more for us, but in my mind, nothing can make up for taking me away from my father. Even what happened with Grace, I still love my father. I'm not to mad at him for going behind my moms back. Things happen, you know? I couldn't hold it against him. I'm not sure I trust him as much as I did before, but I still adore him. He's my father. And if he wants to date - or marry - this Grace, I'm not going to stop him. He's not married, he's allowed to date. If he wants to marry her, I'm sure i won't mind to much. As long as she's nice, I'd be happy for him. He's my father, for better or for worse.

Today, my father and I went on a ride together, and had a picnic lunch. We also had Rachel over for dinner. I don't want to leave Rachel either. Its hard to stay best friends when you're so far apart, and you don't share so many of the same memories. Maybe she can come visit in Boston soon. That would be fun, I think. But I still don't want to leave her. I'm going to hold on to these last moments the best I can, before i have to leave.

Samantha - She's back.

Thank god, thank god, thank god. She came back last night. Just as if it had been what she'd said. No apologies, not a hint of anything to show that she realized that she was a day late. My mom got apoplectic, and threatened to ground her, but Rebecca said that she wasn't her mother, and couldn't control her. My mother said that was true, but she was responsible for her while she lived in our house, and would punish her as she saw fit. Rebecca said she didn't need to be punished. My mom said oh yes, she did, and she was sure her parents would say the same thing. Rebecca said that she didn't even know her parents, and she was sure they wouldn't give a damn, and anyway, she hadn't done anything wrong. My mom said that she'd talked to her dad. Rebecca said to stop lying. My mom said it was true. Rebecca screamed at her, and banged out of the room. Eeek. What a scene. My mother said that wasn't sure how she was going to live with this, and that she'd only taken Rebecca in as a boarder because she was a good person, and could look past somebody's problems, but if this was what she'd get in return, she'd send Rebecca back, and she didn't care exactly what she sent her back to, s long as she was somebody else's problem. She said a whole lot of other things to, but none of them were very nice. But gosh, I'm sure Rebecca deserved them. Even I don't yell at my mother like that. Rebecca is a pain. I wonder if it would be better if it was Rebecca who will leave instead of Samantha.

Speaking of moving, its taking ages. In books, its 'Oh, we're moving.' on Monday, and you're gone by next Saturday. Er...... so, so, not how it works. It's taking forever. Primarily because we haven't found a buyer for the house yet, and my dad says we should before we move. Well, if it takes any longer, I say to hell with a buyer! Much as I don't want to move, all this waiting is getting annoying. Can't we just DO something? I mean, sure, y parents have gone through all the stuff in the basement, and donated tons of old stuff, and stuff like that, but I wish we'd move already. This is some annoying, weird in-between limbo. That said, I do wish the four of us were not going to be split up! We'll miss Mellie so, so, much. Its like we're sisters, we've gotten so close. Well, except for Rebecca. But still. Much as i hate this limbo, I'd rather be in it forever then have Mellie leave. There must be a way to let her stay. There must be. mellie will be home soon, as will Lily, and when they are, we'll have a family meeting. And hope it won't be as chaotic as last time.

Samantha - She's not back!!!! Help!!!!!!!

Am I going nuts? Did anybody else see her last post that said she'd be home Friday night? Because I did. And thats what it said! She said so! And she emailed me saying that she'd be home either Friday night, or Saturday morning! And guess what - its past Friday night, and it's so, so, so not Saturday morning anymore. And she's not back from camp yet. I can't believe it! Where is she? Its four in the afternoon, and she's not here! I have no idea what to do! My mom cheeked the bus schedules, and her bus had arrived here on time! So where is she? Where the hell is Rebecca? I'm freaking out over here. I have no clue what's going on. We called her cell, but nobody answers. We've texted her a bazillion times, and she hasn't answered. I'm so, so worried, and I have nobody to freak out with! Lilyana's coming home from Montana on Monday, and Melanthe should be back tomorrow. So I called Andrea, and she came over. Andrea doesn't know Rebecca to well, but  - who am I kidding? I don't either. Maybe if I knew her better, I'd be able to figure out where she'd gone. Because now, I have no clue. We called the camp, the dance studio - it would be so like her to go straight there and not tell anybody - and mom even called her parents in New York. Her dad answered. mom put him on speakerphone, so we could all hear. She asked him if he knew where she was.
"What, you lost her, or somthin?" He said. He laughed, a hiccup-y, strange, laugh. My mom explained the situation.  "Ah, giver her a'couple days. She'll come back." He said, and he didn't sound concerned at all. My mom asked him what he meant, and he didn't answer. Then she went on for five minuets about did he know where she was, was there anyplace she might go, did she ever do this before, did he think we needed to worry (no), should we cal the police, ect. When she finally came up for breath, we found he'd hung up. Well. No help there, I suppose. He didn't sound worried. Did that mean that we shouldn't worry, or that he's a moron? He sounded like a moron. What if he kidnapped her? I read that in most kidnapping cases, it was a parent or close relative! He didn't sound like somebody I'd trust. Actually, he sounded kinda drunk. Or something. Rebecca said once that she didn't get along with her dad. I can see why! But, again, I shouldn't judge. Maybe we caught him on a bad day. Thats what Lily would say. I'm not quite sure I agree with that, but, who knows? He sounded like this had happened before. Had she run away before? Is that even what this is? She could be kidnapped, or late, or dead. Oh God. I never thought about that. What if she's dead! Hit by a car, or shot by some madman, or dragged into a dark alley and raped. What if! That would be horrible. I couldn't stand that! Or what if she jumped off a bridge or something! Before, I would say no way, but now........What if? Lots of times, I've thought that maybe something......but I just put it down to Rebecca being Rebecca. But what if its not? Oh god, why am I thinking this way? Its ridiculous, its stupid, its dumb, but what if its true? What if? I could never forgive myself. Oh god, what if-

No. Stop. She's not dead. She's just late. Late. Nothing more. Breathe, Samantha. She's either late, or she's just Rebecca being Rebecca. Nothing weird about that, right? Rebecca can be strange. She can be unexpected. She can be annoying, and mean, and intolerable. She often does strange things. This is one of them. We are over-reacting. We are freaking out far to much. We are using the royal we for no apparent reason. I must be calm. She'll be home tonight. Mom says she might have meant Saturday night when she typed Friday night. Its possible. If she's not back, we'll call the police. Maybe she got lost. Or fell and hit her head. This is under control. She is not dead, or kidnapped, or jumped off a bridge. Everything is fine. Rebecca is fine. There is nothing to worry about.

Then why am I worrying??? I should call Lilyana. I hope everything turns out ok.

Rebecca - Rehearsals are going great! (And bunheads rambling - beware!)

Hey guys, its Rebecca; here with her update from the chaotic clutches of dance camp. As you all know, we put on our show for the parents tomorrow, after a scant four days of working around the clock. And after all our hard work, I sincerely hope our show will be great. That is, if Evan ever stops stumbling. Evan plays one of the male leads, and I'm not quite sure why he got cast. Because he sucks. Big-time. He can't even do a simple pirouette without tripping over his feet. I mean, god. I can think of about four other boys at camp who could do twice as good as he does, and are cuter to boot! But other then that, its going great, and i think we're ready for tomorrow. I, of course, am doing perfectly. But I never expected to have any trouble with this dance. But its fun, it really is. I love being in a production, no matter what it is. I love how together it makes us all feel, like we're a team striving towards something. You really feel like you're part of it all. Part of something important, something big and special. Accepted.  When you're dancing in a show, you feel like you're united with everybody around you, banded together, even if you're not friends with any of them, even if you're like me. I just love that feeling. The feeling of belonging. There's not many places where I belong, not even at dance classes, not hoe, not anywhere. But you forget that when you're dancing in a show. You feel like you belong, and nothing else matters.

Lilyana, I get the feeling your dad is hiding something from you. Believe me, I know about these things. And you have a right to know...whatever it is. It probably concerns you, mark my words. And you never told me about Caroline. I'm sorry. That must have been horrible for your parents. Maybe that's why they stopped getting along. Idiotic shrinks and stupid therapists say kids never drive a marriage apart. But believe me, they're wrong. Not that I mean you, Lily. What happened to your sister. That can cause huge problems.

Anybody see the latest episode of Bunheads? It was so, so, good. I thought. I loved the Les Mis speech Michelle does! So funny! But, Michelle? It's Enjolras everybody thinks is gay, not Marius. Why Marius? Idiot scriptwriter. What was he thinking?????  I felt bad for Sasha, and I'm not sure Michelle handled that situation very well. Not that I blame her; because it's not the role Michelle is used to playing, or the one she wants to play. And she had to do something, Sasha can't just act like that. But I feel bad for her, still. I understand how family problems can make you act the way she does, and I understand how much dancing means to her, as a release for that. I emphasize with her a lot, in general. I'm scared for her too, because I don't think Michelle - or anyone - really understands what she's going through, and may be making the situation worse. Wait. I think that Sasha's problems may make Michelle reveal a bit more about herself. Deb? Sounds like the absent parents Sasha's got. So, maybe Michelle does understand, more then anybody, and maybe she'll be the one to see when things are going horribly wrong. Because I think Michelle may go pretty far in the next couple of episodes.  I wonder if she really will go to the summer dance academy without telling her parents. That will make quite the episode. I can't wait! And is it me, or does something about the whole spa/credit card thing smell reallllllllllly fishy? On another note - they need to do more wth Melanie. People are calling her the 'dull bunhead.' I like her. She's pretty, and she can dance. She so needs a plotline. And I think Josh should fall in love with Charlie, while Charlie likes Jenny and Boo likes Charlie! There's a plotline! Oh, and what ever happened to cute surfer dude? And Bill-not-bill? We need male characters! Enough rambling about Bunheads, though. So, eagerly awaiting the next episode!

So I probably won't post tomorrow. I'll be busy. But I'll be home by midnight tomorrow, and post Saterday.

Wish me luck!
Rebecca

Lilyana - Talking to my father......

Last night, I finally did it. I finally approached my father about the woman. I know I have a right to know, because he is my father, after all, but I was still nervous. I felt like it was none of my business; whom he dated, what he did. But I had to know, I just had to.

It was around five or six, and we were in the barn, feeding the horses. I had chosen this time because my father was the most relaxed when he was around horses. A lot like me. I was just finishing feeding Dunecast; my fathers favored palomino, when my father came around the corner. He smiled at me, long and easy, and I knew it was time. With shaking hands I fiddled with my tiny side-braid; the one I haven't taken out since rachel tearfully put it in two years ago, before out car pulled out of the driveway for the last time. I always twist it when I'm nervous. I knew I had to do it, but that didn't make it any easier.
"Dad?" I stammered, my voice a croak. He looks up.
"Hmm?" He says, and I know he's not quite paying attention. There's still time to back out...But I don't.
"Dad? We need to talk."
"Talk?" He says, his attention totally on me now. " About what, bunny? What is it?" He looks concerned, and I gulp.
"About...about...about.." I stammer.
"Lily, what is it?" He says, and he looks slightly alarmed. Is everything OK?"
"I...I just want to talk about..about..you."
"Me?"
"You know. Rachel....She said she's seen you with a woman. A lot." I say, finally. He looks surprised, as though this was the last thing he expected to hear.
"You mean Grace?"" He says slowly.
"Grace? who's Grace."
" She's.......A friend, I guess."
" A.......Friend?"
" In a manner of speaking."
"Are you dating her?"
Well.....Kind of."
"Kind of? How can you 'kind of' date somebody."
"We used to date. A long time ago." He says. A long time ago? Well, that could mean anything.
"How long?" he doesn't answer. "How Long." I repeated, a sinking feeling in my stomach. I had a bad feeling about this.
"We met in high school." He says, not answering my question completely. " I was going to marry her." Marry her? What?
"Why didn't you?"
"Your mom got pregnant."
"What!! With me, you mean?"
"No! No, of course not. Thats not what I meant. With Caroline." Oh. Caroline. Caroline died when she was two, years before I was born. She had had horrible brain damage, and nobody expected her to live long. I hadn't known she was the reason my parents married. I've never mentioned her before, I guess. I never found reason to, its not something I try to hide. Its not even something my parents hid from me. I've known about Caroline ever since I was little. I just don't think about her much. I never even knew her, and plenty of babies die young. And I know that after that, once my parents were trying to get pregnant, my mother had a couple miscarriages. Then they had me, and then Melanie. Caroline was common knowledge in our house. I remember that when I was six or seven, I would pretend she was still my older sister, and talk to her in my head. It was kind of like having a diary, but without the writing part. I told her everything I did, and what I thought. I made up stories about her, to. I guess every little girl wants an older sister. When I got older, I started a diary, and the caroline-in-my-head went back to the underworld. I still address my diary as Caroline, though.
"Oh. Caroline. So thats why you married mom?"
"Yeah."
"And you loved Grace?"
"I did, although I didn't realize it then. I thought I loved your mother. Don't think badly of me, Lily, but pregnancy or not, I would never have married your mother if i hadn't thought I loved her."
"I don't think badly of you, dad." And I didn't. It made sense to me. "So...when did you realize you loved her after all?"
"A year and a half after Caroline died."
"Oh. And you.......told her that?"
"I did. We had a long talk, and agreed to stay friends."
"Friends?"
"Lilyana, there are some things that children should not know about. Yes, we were friend. I loved her. She herself never married.
"You cheated on mom?"
"Lily."
"You did!"
"Your mom and I were not meant to be together."
"Thats no excuse."
"I never said it was. But I loved Grace. I always have."
"Did you do the same thing with other women, or was she the only one?"
" We were meant for each other. There was nobody else. Lily. Just her."
"You're dating her now?"
"We've...spend some time talking."
"Oh. Will you marry her?"
"If I do, you'll be the first to know. Now, lets go have dinner." He stood, and kissed the top of my head.
"Dad?"
"Hmm?"
"Was she - Grace - the reason you divorced mom?"
"Not really. Your mother and I had problems. Grace didn't cause them. We did."
"Ok."
"I'll always love you though. You know that, right?"
"Of course, dad."
"Good. Lets go make dinner."

I'm glad I know the truth. That he did cheat on mom. I still can't believe that. I had no idea. How had I not known? How had I missed that?  That he really loved somebody else. But..I don't know....call me stupid, but i think it sounds kind of romantic. Kind of. It would be like a story, if it wasn't my dad. But it is, and I don't know quite what to think. I wonder if he will marry her. I can't imagine that, but he might. That's hard to imagine. I didn't ask him anything about...Grace. I wonder what she's like? Is she nice? Does she like horses like he does? Is she smart? Does she like kids? Would she like me? Does she sing like my mom, or is she outdoors-y? All I know about her is that she's pretty-but-not-high-maintenance, she loves my dad, she drives a battered blue truck, and is unmarried. Thats not a lot. Come to think of it, I didn't find out very much from that conversation. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but I think he's hiding something. But what? I'm so confused.

Lilyana
